Can i come for lunch & dinner everyday!!?
On Tuesday my brother, fiancé, grandma and her friend all went out for lunch at the fireside and CAN I EAT HERE EVERYDAY ALL DAY! Our food was spectacular!
I had the chicken souvlaki on a pita & it was mouth watering perfection! All of our dishes were generous portions, hot freshly cooked food! It was amazing and you know we will be back before the week is over!!!

Went here for my boyfriends mom's birthday dinner a few nights ago! The pulled pork was really good! & The fries were crispy and not greasy at all, our waitress Sammy was awesome!!

Went to the fireside in welland last Tuesday and tried the new wings on the menu they said. Wings were better then most pizza places near by. Awesome food a must check for welland

So happy to see this popular restaurant open again! New owner did a great job updating inside. It's more inviting than ever. Service is awesome, prices are fair, food is excellent - still the best fish & chips in welland. Will absolutely come in again soon.

After 1 1/2 years of being closed due to the former owner's passing, this gem has been revitalized to it's former state as far as food is considered. Went for dinner this past week. It was extremely busy, I had to park on the street. There is parking onsight however it was full with cars waiting. The menu is similar to the previous menu although they are not open for breakfast. I had the seafood chowder, one of the best I've ever had. I had the souvlaki on a pita dinner, came with a good portion of rice greek salad and potatoes and Tzatziki. There was plenty of chicken in the pita Watching some of the food coming out of the kitchen the plate was overflowing, generous portions. Service was great considering how busy they were. I will definitely going back to try other items on the menu

A great, family owned restaurant located in the heart of Welland. Recently reopened under new management, they renovated the whole place top to bottom, front to back and brought back some of the previous staff as well!
Many of the amazing original menu options are still available, as well as a new revamped menu with some new amazing items to please your tastebuds!
If you're looking for a great place to take your family for dinner, with healthy options that you can feel good about all without breaking your budget... then I HIGHLY reccomend you go visit the new and improved Fireside restaurant!

All Around AMAZING
Just had Fireside the other day under the new owners. Steve and Tammy are wonderful and friendly! They cooked the food to perfection. I will definitely return as it is my new favorite place to eat in Welland. They also may have some of the best Greek coffee I have ever tasted. I love how they kept the feel of the original and added a new modern twist!

Drove down to visit family and couldn’t wait to try the fireside. Been years. The chicken Slovakia was amazing and the Greek salad. Wife was happy with the burger.... I’ll have to hit you up once more before I leave

Had lunch there today. Started with the Saganaki. You would probably have to go to the Danforth to find better - even then you might not find better. Had the Reuben sandwich. Came on marbled rye and was out of this world. The choices on the new menu include something for everyone. Not many options in Welland for a quality sit down family restaurant so the new Fireside is a welcome addition to the area. Our server Louise was top shelf and really made us feel welcome. Looking forward to our next visit.

The Fireside is Back!!
The Fireside is Back and Better than Ever! Started with cheesy French Onion soup, Golden Crispy Onion Rings, Greek Bruchetta with Fresh Pita Triangles.The Chicken Souvlaki Dinner was spot on! Tzatiki ..mmm! Ruben Sandwich was Excellent with just the right amount of corned beef, Gyro was delicious! Fresh cut fries very good too! Decor has been updated. Classy, yet Warm and Welcoming..Staff Very Friendly! Will Definately go back

Apparently we’ve been very busy the last 2 years upon discovery of no yearly update on this page since December 2021!! Priorities rule. Our priorities are always totally focused on you. How can we be better, how can we keep prices as low as we can, how can we provide a better dining experience. We breathe these thoughts daily. Our theory is…if you are going to own a restaurant, there is no other way to do so than to do it very well…and we try very hard to live by that philosophy.
Covid is history, we survived those couple years, thanks to all your support and here we are heading into our 5th years of buisness. Our industry has provided us data on the current status of the enormous amount of restaurants (and other businesses) closing due to the inability to pay back a government loan titled CEBA. This loan was a life line for many restaurants, ours included because self employed people didn’t qualify for any other government benefits due to the pandemic. Businesses were given a $60,000 loan and if you paid back $40,000 of it by January 17, 2024, the other $20,000 remaining was forgiven. Data shows 1 in 4 restaurants will be closing this month because they were unable to repay this loan. Thankfully, due to your continued support, we have safely made it past that chapter by paying the loan back and moving forward.
There is a rumor out there we would like to address about our restaurant. It’s true, the restaurant is up for sale as it was always our intention of reviving the sorely missed restaurant with a 5 year plan. As we enter our 5th year, we hope to fulfill our mission of passing the baton over to another owner who will carry on with the revival of the Fireside. Of course, we will keep everyone up to date on the progress of the sale of the restaurant, but as of now, we have no offers to announce.
We would also like to address one of the biggest conversations in Canada for the past couple years and that is food prices. We have tried our best to source our food without compromising quality at the lowest prices we can. Restaurants do not get “deals” on food, we pay the same as you do so you have to be very savvy on purchasing. You will often see us at No Frills, Costco or Fresh Co buying items on sale to maintain our menu pricing. Butter for example, 2 years ago could be found on sale for $2.99 a pound. Today it will go on sale for $5.99 a pound. That’s double the price!! Crazy times for sure. Frying oil has quadrupled, takeout containers have doubled, and on and on it goes. Our lunch menu for $11.99 was restructured last fall and some things had to be changed with the menu to keep it alive, but we did it and lunch continues to be very busy.
We also continue to grow in the catering sector of our business so if you have an event or large dinner/lunch, give us a call and we can do our darnest to help you out with what you are looking for. The tablets, Skip the Dishes, Uber Eats and Door Dash also continue to thrive. For those who don’t know, they do take a percentage of our sales, up to 25%, and therefore the pricing of our menu items on the tablets are higher than ordering directly from us.
As we continue into our 5th year, we again express our gratitute for all of you who recommend us to your friends and family and drop our name on a facebook post, give us an honest review, share kind words of praise in house. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, your actions are noticed and appreciated. The last word goes out to our staff. Still small and mighty – we appreciate your loyalty, always being here for us, your kindness and giving us all you got with exceptional service always based on customer needs.

This month marks our 2 year anniversay of our ownership of the Fireside. We continue to adhere to the crazy yoyo of opening for dine in, not opening for dine in, dine in restrictions, bleaching, cleaning excessively and we find ourselves tired of this new world we live in. We are certain this sentiment echos in most of your thoughts as well. All anyone can do is march forward, day by day, week, by week and get through this. Who could have ever predicted we would find ourselves still in these troubled times almost 2 years into it.
And still….you continue to support us, applaud our efforts with so many great reviews and kind words and we are grateful for all of you. You are the reason we get up and do what we do every day. Thank you so very much for keeping our doors open and please know that without YOU, our doors would have closed already.
Our amazing staff has weathered this storm with us and we are so fortunate to have you on our team. Jerry, Kurtis, Louise, Renee, Ava and Helen, we appreciate your loyalty and mindfulness of our purpose and mission to provide quality food, great service and maintain positive attitudes.
We have altered our dining room a bit to accomodate a sub sandwich area. We have sourced the freshest buns, qualtiy lunch meats and produce to mirror the beloved Celi & Presti sub sandwiches that are sorely missed for sub lovers. We hope you try and enjoy our new offering.
Here’s looking forward to 2022, a year to move back to normal and to make the Fireside feel like a full service restaurant once again, full of chatter and people having a great dining experience.
Out with the old and in with the new…here’s hoping 2022 is full of better news.

Today marks our 1 year anniversary of opening the Fireside. With all the projections in our business plan we never could have anticipated 3 months into opening a pandemic would change everything. Yet here we are surviving through 9 months of Covid-19 and we still feel the excitement of moving forward into year 2 and beyond.
We have remained strong and maintained our excitement because you believed in us. You supported us. You offered positive feedback to brighten our day. You offered constructive feedback on how we could improve which we listened to and improved. You have made a point to order from us to keep our doors open. Some of you have become weekly regulars and are our top fans. Some of you were family. Some of you were friends. Some of you were strangers. Some of you are Fireside mascots always promoting us. Some of you have warmed our hearts with kind words and gestures. All of you cared. Without YOU there would be no we. We notice, we care back and we thank all of you for your roles in our Fireside lives.
We are also grateful for our opening team of previous Fireside employees who guided us while we dipped our toes in the water. We also thank every single person who was part of our team that we have parted ways with due to COVID-19. We learned something from each of you.
Today we are grateful for our current team who is small but mighty. Your loyalty and hard work. Never missing a day. Giving us your all and then some. We stand United and Strong. We appreciate you and love you more than words can express.
Thank you to our family and friends who understand the best way to socialize with us now is to come to the Fireside even if it’s only for a few moments of interaction. You are all still here for us showing your undying support. A special thank you also goes out to Jim and Donna. Without your support and guidance there would be no Fireside. We thankful both and love you both for believing in us.
Thank you also to Charlie and Mary who began this journey known as the Fireside over 40 years ago. You built a legacy, not a business. For this we are grateful you gave us the opportunity to carry it on and continue to create family nostalgia and memories.
We are very grateful to everyone who supported us this past year no matter what your role was. You are noticed. You are loved. We are blessed to have you all in our lives.
